May Day! May Day!
There's no reading this week as it's May Day. But we'll be back on 11 May.
In the mean time, here's footage of some people having fun on May Day, back when people knew how to have fun.

Oh how wonderful. I visited 3 years later in the Brezhnev era and indeed when queuing in Red Square to see Lenin's tomb the guards told us to undo our coats so they could see any hidden (what?) then the next set of guards told us to do up our coats, then the next set to do them up. But the Experimental Chocolate Factory round the corner was fun. The rash cleared after a month...
